In the wake of his telepathic guide's death, a desperate and increasingly unhinged Sabretooth is hunted across the globe by the mercenary Maverick. Seeking a way to quell his homicidal rages, the feral mutant eventually infiltrates the X-Mansion, leading to a tense confrontation with Professor Xavier. While the X-Men struggle with the moral implications of protecting such a prolific killer, Xavier ultimately chooses to keep his old enemy prisoner in hopes of telepathically curing his bloodlust.
