After their Blackbird jet is brought down by a massive energy blast over the frozen wasteland of Antarctica, Professor Xavier, Cyclops, and Storm must fight for survival against a brutal blizzard and internal injuries. While the team struggles to navigate the sub-zero temperatures without their standard equipment, they are hunted by the impulsive new Upstart, Sienna Blaze, who is determined to prove her power by eliminating the X-Men's leadership. As a fever-stricken Storm loses control of the elements and a visor-less Cyclops navigates blindly, the stranded heroes must rely on their wits and a mysterious hidden benefactor to escape the icy death trap.
