In the wake of the devastating X-Cutioner's Song, the young mutants of X-Force struggle to find their place while sheltered within the walls of Xavier’s School. Despite the guidance of the X-Men, the team feels like perpetual outlaws whose aggressive tactics for mutant liberation clash fundamentally with the Professor's peaceful vision. Realizing they only have each other to rely on, Cannonball and his teammates must confront their personal demons and the growing friction with their mentors. Ultimately, the group makes the radical choice to abandon the safety of the mansion to forge their own path, free from the constraints of Xavier's teachings.
