Led by the battle-hardened Cable, the former New Mutants re-emerge as a proactive, paramilitary strike force dedicated to ending threats before they strike. While the team showcases their lethal new combat style, the villainous Stryfe narrowly escapes by initiating a self-destruct sequence, leaving the ruins for S.H.I.E.L.D. to investigate. Amidst the global tension, the mysterious Gideon begins grooming Sunspot for a dark purpose, further complicating the burgeoning conflict.
