Agents Scully and Mulder travel to the frozen reaches of Nome, Alaska, to go undercover within a fanatical cult convinced that a hollow world exists beneath the Earth's surface. The investigation takes a violent turn when the agents are trapped in the middle of a brutal federal siege on the group's fortified compound. Amidst the smoke and chaos, the enigmatic cult leader Enoch manages to abduct Mulder, dragging him into the wilderness on a desperate quest for the fabled Silent City of the Aztecs. Scully must race against time to track them down before the Alaskan tundra or the cult's strange delusions claim her partner's life.
