In the desolate year of 2029, the war between humanity and the rogue AI Skynet has reduced the world to a scorched wasteland, prompting a desperate gamble across time. To eliminate the future resistance leader John Connor, Skynet sends a shape-shifting T-1000 assassin back to 1995, while the human resistance counters by sending a reprogrammed T-800 as his protector. As these two lethal machines converge on a young, rebellious John in Los Angeles, his mother Sarah remains incarcerated in a mental hospital, haunted by visions of the impending nuclear holocaust. Together, this unlikely trio must outrun a relentless predator and find a way to destroy the technology that will one day give birth to their mechanical nightmare.
