After a peaceful afternoon helping Lana Lang and enjoying a picnic with his parents, Superman investigates a disturbance at a rock quarry. He encounters a group of futuristic heroes, the Legion of Super-Heroes, who mistake him for Superboy. A misunderstanding erupts into a battle, further complicated by Superman's powers going haywire. As the truth about their different realities unfolds, a menacing Superboy arrives, threatening to end their lives.
