As Sam and Twitch move into their new offices, a mysterious envelope arrives containing evidence against the corrupt Chief Banks, setting the stage for a deadly trap orchestrated by Jason Wynn and the Clown. In the shadows of Rat City, Spawn's behavior grows increasingly erratic as he lashes out at Cogliostro and retreats into a self-imposed exile, claiming he must go underground for the safety of his remaining allies. Meanwhile, Terry Fitzgerald finally uncovers the proof he needs to link Wynn to illegal arms dealing, but his victory is short-lived as he begins to suffer from terrifying, unexplained blackouts that threaten his life and his family's future. The tension reaches a breaking point as the lines between corporate espionage and supernatural struggle blur, leaving Al Simmons more isolated than ever.
