To exploit Spawn’s growing power, the Violator manipulates Jason Wynn into befriending Terry Fitzgerald, aiming to use Al Simmons' former life and family as a psychological wedge to goad him into a reckless mistake. Meanwhile, Cogliostro attempts to mentor the impulsive Hellspawn, warning him that his violent outbursts against street-level thugs like the drug dealer Stinky are exactly what Malebolgia desires to fuel the coming Armageddon.
