While Malebolgia gleefully observes the corruption of Al Simmons from the depths of Hell, Spawn is unexpectedly whisked away to a heavenly realm for an interrogation by the angel Gabrielle regarding his encounter with Angela. Back in the gritty reality of the Bowery, a desperate man named Fred Barnett pleads for Spawn’s help to save his family from poverty, only to be met with cold indifference from the hellspawn. This dismissal leads to a tragic conclusion that leaves Al grappling with a newfound sense of guilt as he realizes the heavy cost of his inaction. Amidst this turmoil, the mysterious Cagliostro reappears to challenge Spawn’s understanding of his own power and the choices he has made since his return to Earth.
