The Sentinel of the Spaceways finds himself caught in a complex galactic conflict after Super-Skrull tricks him into interfering in a battle between the Skrulls and the Badoon, who are secretly allied with the Kree. Rushing to defend his home world of Zenn-La from a Kree assault led by Ronan the Accuser, the hero eventually triumphs. He then learns that his involvement was manipulated by the Skrulls to power a machine that grants shapeshifting to their entire empire, but only after receiving assurances that Zenn-La will be protected from future conflicts.
