An ancient threat, the Obliterator, escapes a populated world with new weapons and sets his destructive sights on Zenn-La. As the Silver Surfer races to answer Shalla-Bal's desperate plea for help, he is forced into a violent confrontation with Kree forces. Upon reaching his homeworld, the Surfer realizes that destroying Zenn-La would elevate him to the status of a cosmic Elder, a fate the Obliterator cannot allow, thus forcing the villain to focus his rage on eliminating the Surfer first.
