After relaxing at his Vancouver estate, the savage Victor Creed finds his past catching up to him when his psychic assistant, Birdy, uncovers traumatic childhood memories of his father's cruelty. The situation turns dire as a massive tactical unit, aided by a betrayal from within, manages to subdue the mutant despite his ferocious resistance. Awakening in captivity, Sabretooth is confronted by the mysterious Tribune, who reveals he has surgically implanted a bomb near Victor's heart. To ensure his survival, the lethal assassin is coerced into a deadly new mission: he must track down and eliminate his former lover, Mystique.
