Following the apparent death of Frank Castle in the wreckage of Manhattan Tower, authorities struggle to identify a body found in the rubble wearing his iconic shirt. In the shadow of his absence, former police officer Lynn Michaels and the vigilante Payback form an uneasy alliance to continue the war on crime. As they launch a daring assault on a mob-controlled bank, Microchip goes into hiding, remotely destroying Punisher’s safehouses to stay one step ahead of the law. Their mission is quickly jeopardized when the tactical unit V.I.G.I.L. descends upon the scene, surrounding the new duo and threatening to end their crusade before it truly begins.
