While investigating a series of gruesome murders where victims are left mummified, Kitty Pryde and Pete Wisdom seek help from Pete’s estranged father, Harold, a cantankerous profiler. Their journey through the occult underground of London becomes even more perilous as they are hunted by a mysterious shadowy woman and men in black who use power-inhibiting weapons. The duo's investigation leads them to the Mystery School, a specialized unit of detectives who reveal that the killer is using ancient Enochian symbols as part of a deadly alchemical quest. With the arrival of Pete’s sister, Romany, the team races to a local pub to stop the murderer before he can claim his next victim in his twisted attempt to seek divine forgiveness.
