In the wake of the devastating Onslaught conflict, a de-powered and guilt-ridden Charles Xavier voluntarily surrenders himself to government authorities to atone for his actions. He soon finds himself under the harsh watch of the mutant-hating Bastion at a high-security Hulkbuster base, where he is interrogated and pressured to break. Amidst this confinement, Xavier discovers an unexpected ally in Nina, a young "Mannite" with incredible powers who offers him a chance at escape and a glimmer of hope for the future of mutantkind. This somber chapter explores the Professor’s internal darkness while establishing the rising threat of Operation: Zero Tolerance.
