After a freak cable car accident involving a mysterious bolt of lightning, talented saxophonist Johnny Domino awakens from a coma with the uncanny ability to hear the evil thoughts of those around him. This new sensory burden, coupled with permanent insomnia and enhanced night vision, transforms the jazz musician into a restless guardian of San Francisco. Donning a costume to match his new identity, he begins a mission as the Night Man to intercept a psychopathic killer and protect the innocent from the dark impulses he can no longer ignore.
