As a new generation of gifted youngsters gathers under the guidance of Professor X, they struggle to master their volatile abilities while being reminded they are students, not soldiers. However, the outside world has different ideas as Henry Peter Gyrich begins formulating his own agenda for these fledgling heroes. Tensions escalate within the mansion when a training session in the Danger Room turns deadly, leaving Danielle Moonstar trapped against a lethal program set far beyond her control. Amidst internal growing pains and external threats, the team must quickly find their footing before their sanctuary becomes a trap.
