The next generation of gifted youngsters gathers under Professor X's tutelage, struggling to master their extraordinary abilities while being reminded they are students, not soldiers. However, the shadows of government interference loom large as Henry Peter Gyrich begins to weave his own designs for the fledgling group. Tensions reach a breaking point when a training session in the Danger Room is sabotaged, leaving Danielle Moonstar to face a lethal surge in programming that threatens to turn her sanctuary into a death trap.
