After successfully unmasking his elusive assailant as Peter Alraune, the cloaked vigilante Moon Knight transports his captive along with close allies Marlene and Frenchie to a secluded cottage in Maine to hide out. However, the sanctuary is compromised because Peter still shares an involuntary, torturous mental connection with the powered-up villain Morpheus, who knows exactly where to find them. When Morpheus unleashes a terrifying assault, Peter manages to regain his own free will and discover that his unique nightmare powers are the key to neutralizing the threat. In a tragic final act of atonement for creating the monster, Peter makes the ultimate sacrifice to cure his patient and save Moon Knight's companions.
