Clad in the new War Machine armor, Iron Man, along with the Masters of Silence, launches a fierce assault on Justin Hammer's heavily fortified artificial island base to settle a prior grievance. Meanwhile, a gravely ill Tony Stark uses his remaining time to dictate final details to his subordinates, finding little comfort in his efforts. As the conflict with Hammer unfolds, a separate, villainous cabal wastes no time in advancing their secretive plot against Stark.
