The prolonged absence of Reed Richards finally comes to a head as Sue, with assistance from the Silver Surfer, discovers he has left Earth entirely. While the Surfer remains earthbound, Reed is forced to stand trial for a major offense. He attempts to defend his actions, but ultimately the verdict is delivered, and the leader of the Fantastic Four is sentenced to death.
