There, he discovers that the entire cosmic emergency—including visions of his beloved and his mentor—was merely an elaborate illusion engineered by a lonely sorceress desperate for his love. When her scheme unravels, she shatters the fabric of her own dimension, forcing the Sorcerer Supreme to execute a harrowing escape back to Earth.
