In the midst of a dangerous confrontation, the powerful mutant Misery finally releases her control over the members of Cyberforce. Heatwave acts quickly to stop Velocity from fatally attacking Zealot, allowing Warblade to distract Misery and deliver a decisive blow. As Warblade impales her, Misery's original, benevolent personality resurfaces, revealing her true intention was to resurrect the villain Richtoffen using the advanced technology. With the threat neutralized, Cyberforce and the WildC.A.T.s establish a truce and go their separate ways.
