In the desert near Cinnebar Flats Army Research Center, a deadly phenomenon known as "The Vortex" is ready to unleash a new era of danger. Just as the surrounding area begins to look like the prelude to the Apocalypse, a being of unimaginable power steps out of the dimensional rift. This apocalyptic figure presents a terrifying question to humanity: has he arrived to be their savior or their ultimate destroyer? Meanwhile, David MacRae, also known as Hero Zero, must confront the terrifying events unfolding in his city.
