Having earned the gratitude of the Watcher, Captain Mar-Vell and Rick Jones are finally granted their ultimate wish: the power to exist simultaneously in the universe. No longer bound to trade places with the Negative Zone, the two heroes are freed from sharing a single physical existence and mental bond. However, as Mar-Vell prepares to take his leave from Earth, an urgent danger interrupts his departure near a Cape Canaveral rocket launch site. There, he spots a woman perilously close to danger, only to be struck with utter disbelief once he realizes her true identity.
