The Kree hero Mar-Vell finds himself in a desperate battle against the radioactive villain Megaton in a struggle titled "Death at the End of the World!" As Megaton's power grows dangerously high, Captain Marvel is forced to take extreme measures, using a power station explosion to weaken his foe. The resulting blast leaves both combatants depleted, causing Mar-Vell's photon powers to fail and him to revert back to his human counterpart, Rick Jones.
