In the desolate Arizona desert, the Star-Spangled Avenger must face the monstrous Mr. Hyde and the deadly Cobra shortly after escaping the Serpent Society's clutches. While his allies, Free Spirit and Jack Flag, hold the line against the assembled villains, a desperate battle leaves the hero's vision blurred, forcing a critical misstep among the foes. However, the cosmic battle has taken a grave toll, and Giant-Man arrives only to find Captain America suffering a heart attack, racing against time to prevent permanent paralysis.
