As the two escape the decimated facility, Deathlok reveals that his world's heroes vanished in Cap's present day, prompting the Sentinel of Liberty to follow him into the future to avert disaster. Meanwhile, Bernie Rosenthal's family is displeased with Steve's absence, and Nomad finds an unexpected connection with a mysterious woman named Scarlet. Their journey through time takes them to 1991, where Deathlok confronts Godwulf for answers about his original mission.
