The hunt for Stryfe intensifies as Cable and Kane infiltrate the Yashida Clan's Japanese stronghold, while a flashback reveals the villain's control over Tolliver's illicit operations years earlier. In the present, the duo tracks their target to a hidden Yucatan base, where they are ambushed by the Mutant Liberation Front. After fending off the initial assault, Cable and Weapon X face Stryfe himself; though Cable manages to escape with a severely injured Kane, the encounter leaves a critical mark on his ally.
