Returning from their space mission, the outlaw team is immediately blindsided by the government's elite meta-human squad, Bloodstrike, who were sent to take them down. The ambush turns into a brutal confrontation as Battlestone's past catches up to him and his team. In the intense opening moments of the fight, Stasis is killed, Cold Snap is severely injured, and both Seahawk and Kayo are captured, leaving the Brigade reeling from a devastating defeat.
