A peaceful evening at Avengers Mansion is violently interrupted by an invasion of axe-wielding 6th-century marauders, forcing heroes like Crystal, Hercules, and the Vision into a frantic battle. Elsewhere, Black Knight's squire, Sean, is forced to brandish the ebony blade to subdue a pair of robbers, inadvertently giving birth to the savage Bloodwraith. Earth's Mightiest Heroes must then contain this blood-cursed entity who threatens everyone after absorbing the souls of the villains he slays.
