A dangerous new player, the Black Tarantula, attempts to extend his criminal empire into New York City, targeting the lucrative illegal emerald trade. Caught between rival forces, Spider-Man intervenes as Delilah and the Rose's men clash with the incredibly strong El Uno, who is believed to be the Tarantula. In the ensuing chaos, Spidey saves an innocent while a deadly bomb explodes, seemingly killing El Uno, but leaving the Black Tarantula's true identity and plans in question.
