The web-slinger is rapidly deteriorating after the antidote for the Vulture's deadly virus fails, leaving him on the brink of death with no hope in sight. In a bizarre twist of fate, one of Spider-Man's greatest foes, Dr. Octopus, shows him a strange form of compassion, but their encounter is interrupted by Stunner. As events spiral, Dr. Octopus is shocked to unmask the ailing hero and realize the truth of Spider-Man's identity.
