A clandestine meeting of mobsters at the World Trade Center is interrupted when Spider-Man unexpectedly crashes the scene, just as the mysterious Green Goblin is about to expose a secret identity. During the chaos, a disoriented wall-crawler is ambushed by the Goblin, who quickly contains him in a specialized bag and makes a getaway. Meanwhile, Peter Parker is nowhere to be found, leaving Mary Jane anxiously waiting by Aunt May's bedside, unaware of the trap that has captured her heroic friend.
