A high-stakes "gangland convention" is interrupted when a new Green Goblin crashes the meeting of crime bosses, including Silvermane. The Goblin easily defeats the criminal heavyweights and proposes a deal: he will reveal Spider-Man's closely guarded civilian identity if the crime bosses accept him as their new leader. This confrontation echoes Peter Parker's painful final battle with the original Goblin, forcing Spider-Man to investigate before his secret is exposed.
