Metropolis is reeling from the sudden appearance of a mysterious and powerful new entity known as Cauldron, unleashed upon the city by the controversial Project Cadmus. As Superman tries to determine if this new force is a friend or a threat, he receives word of another impending confrontation. The interstellar bounty hunter Lobo is en route to Earth with a clear goal: to challenge and capture the recently returned Man of Steel. This double threat tests Superman's strength and moral compass against forces both chaotic and mercenary.
