In the aftermath of Superman's tragic demise, a quartet of heroes has emerged, each claiming the mantle of the Man of Steel. Skeptical of these newcomers, the outspoken Guy Gardner decides to investigate by setting a trap for one of the replacement Supermen. However, after witnessing the aggressive, rough justice delivered by this new hero, the former Green Lantern begrudgingly gives his approval. This encounter sets the stage for further conflict as the legacy of Superman remains contested.
