On Metropolis's annual "Superman Day," the celebration is hijacked when Booster Gold launches a surprise public crusade against the Man of Steel, escalating quickly into a major battle between the two heroes. Before the confrontation is resolved, the appearance of a second, more powerful Booster Gold complicates matters further. Meanwhile, Superman must seek out Batman's aid to solve the mystery of a strange scrapbook filled with clippings about his past, introducing Batman's new sidekick, Robin II. This frantic team-up forces the heroes to navigate a web of temporal confusion and unexpected alliances.
