Mister Miracle and Oberon return home only to find Darkseid waiting for them with a horrific video revealing Big Barda under the influence of the villain Sleez. When a distressed Mister Miracle bursts onto the scene, the mind control breaks, snapping Superman and Barda out of their trance. Barda immediately defends her husband by crushing the brain of Sleez's monstrous Ash-Crawler, as Superman pursues the fleeing Sleez into the sewers.
